Abstract
The electromagnetic expansion ring test can be used to study the fracture characteristics of materials. In this paper, Gurson JC model is used to describe the damage model of  Aluminum alloy. The fully coupled method is used to study the necking and fracture behavior of the material in electromagnetic expansion ring process. The relationship between the expansion speed and necking, fracture behavior of the workpiece ring is discussed. The size effect of the workpiece ring is further discussed based on the simulation. The results suggest that the expansion speed plays the decisive role on the number of necking and fracture, and there are obvious differences between workpiece rings of different sizes.
