Abstract
Gas insulated switchgear (GIS) plays an important role in the power grid. At present, the defect detection and condition assessment of GIS involves many condition parameters that are obtained with power outage. Therefore, the maintenance of GIS brings a lot of pressure on the Power supply bureau. In this paper, based on the data sheet about 538 GIS equipment and 10 years operations, the defects and relevant condition parameters were statistically analyzed. The distribution of GIS defects with the type of detection and components, and the defect rate with the operating years were obtained. Major condition parameters were analyzed, and seven condition parameters were chosen to perform the maintenance of GIS. These seven condition parameters can be obtained without power outage and more than 97% defects can be found out through them.
