Abstract
The atmospheric pressure non-equilibrium plasma jet (APNP-Js) show great advantages in biomedicine application. This article introduces a touchable DC self-pulse jet with air or helium as the working gas. In order to have quantitative research on the discharge, the discharge current characteristic has been studied that includes the current amplitude, the half-width of the current, and the frequency of the current. Besides that, the nitrogen and oxygen have been added in helium cases to see the influence. For the touchable cases, the discharge mode for air is transient glow while for helium is filamentary. And with the discharge gap increases, the frequency decreases for two cases. The current amplitude changes slightly and half pulse width increases for air, while for helium the amplitude increases and half pulse width changes slightly.
