Abstract
The HUST field-reversed configuration is a field-reversed plasma research device based on forming, colliding, merging and magnetic compression. Quasi-steady magnets need to provide a background magnetic field, the magnetic mirror structure, in the above process. The magnetic induction intensity at the device's axis is 0.1T and 0.3T respectively, and the magnetic mirror ratio is 3. Quasi-steady magnets are composed of multi-turn coils and are divided into two specifications with ampere-turns of 52kA and 154kA respectively. The magnets are powered by pulsed DC power supply, and the pulse width of the current platform is about 2s. The coupling between coils is serious. With 6mm aluminum shielding shell, the induced voltage can be effectively reduced to less than 30V. Meanwhile, the temperature rise and stress can also meet the requirements with current design. In conclusion, the design of quasi-steady magnet system is simple, economical and reliable.
